The 4th edition of ICT DAYS – a conference organized by the Interizon – Pomeranian ICT Cluster is just behind us. This year, apart from the meetings of people from the business, science and administration environment, three-day talks by the cluster representatives of six European countries were held. The main subject of ICT Days 2013 focused on the activities needed to improve the quality of services provided by the cluster organizations.

The cluster services quality was the main topic of conversations, especially on the first day of the conference. The second day was devoted to the development of business opportunities in the ICT industry in the upcoming years. Participants were also discussing the possibilities for the companies in view of the 2014-2020 European Funds. Attendees could also find out about the details of the forthcoming Digital Poland Operational Programme.

“Currently, we have resources for entrepreneurs who will implement the last-mile access networks technology (…). We are planning a large support for this kind of the infrastructure.” – stressed Bogdan Dombrowski, Deputy Minister of Administration and Digitization.

“A cluster is a kind of collaboration platform – but it is not another social networking site. It is a platform which is designed to build strength of the cooperating entities. Thanks to the ICT conference we can strengthen the cooperation between business, science and administration” – noted the chairman of the Interizon cluster – Maciej Filarecki.

An important point of the program were the presentations of innovative solutions in the field of computer science, electronics and telecommunications offered by the Cluster companies.

During the last day of the conference the issue of cooperation between clusters and science parks, incubators and other business institutions was discussed. Additionally, the conference was an opportunity for business meetings, to experience and learn more on the companies participating in projects such as ACCUS, carried out in collaboration with the Interizon cluster, whose goal is to create an innovative system for intelligent urban management and its pilot implementation in Tricity.
