Integrated Applications workshop in Gdansk (17.03.2014)
The Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) is one of the optional European Space Agency (ESA) programmes for developing applications in order to integrate satellite provided services. With the help of integrated applications it is possible to create unique services used by crisis management, local governments, fire departments, police, land, sea and air traffic management.
The aim of the event was to present the opportunities coming from project participation under the IAP-ARTES20 programme, and to present products and services which use space technology to enable public administration streamlining. Finally at the workshop it was possible to gain some knowledge about research commercialization related to the presented topics.
At the beginning of the workshop ESA representatives presented the IAP programme, IAP projects case studies and hint on submitting proposals to the IAP programme. Following this, the representatives of Polish companies and academia presented their case studies. The organizers also described the Polish Industry Incentive Scheme and recalled the recent Call for Outline Proposals. At the end of the workshop the Polish SAT-AIS Initiative was presented and a partnership brokering part was held describing business opportunities in the NEXTANT Applications & Innovative Solutions.
The meeting was attended by European Space Agency representatives, the Polish public administration, research institutes and companies from the telecommunication (ICT) and space sector.
